had proficiency test today. so fun. was nervous before hand but found out that it is quite entertaining in the process of the test.
mr joseph simulated a guest damn well. exactly like wat we have in paulaner. hungry 'guests' (pronounced 'ghosts'). expected me to come up with a mocktail when i hadn't had any in mind. this was wat happened:
me: sir wld u like to try our mocktail of the day? its called "tropical fizz". it has a fizzy mix of tropical fruits like pineapple (and i was bloody thinkin of durian but logic came to me that durian in a drink wld probably suck).
joseph: i dun like pineapples. do u have something else?
me: (i was bloody shocked cos i din have plan B) er... yes.. we have ... er... LEMON TANG! yes! lemon tang is a concoction of citrus fruits like orange lemon and lime. wld u like to try one?
joseph: yes. pls give me one of that. i am very hungry. wat wld u recommend for a meal.
(so i went on and on. things were uneventful until i came to the dessert part.)
me: wld u like a dessert to end ur meal with? i wld recommend (here goes) cherries jubilee.
joseph: but its for two pax! (why the hell did i miss that information on the menu)
me: AHHHHH! ok. er.... how about a tiramisu then?
joseph: no. i want a cherry jubilee. (why why clever me. act smart aleck. i was thinking "turban kia" in my mind all that while.)
me: er... ok. sir how abt i go check with the kitchen and ask the chef to specially prepare a portion for u. i will get back to u as soon as possible ok?
joseph: ok. (phew)
and the test was over. haha. uphill downhill ride. lol.
and oh ya. during lecture today we had the awards presentation for the semester. i got the passion and dedication prize! haha. so proud of myself. but the people that stole the show were jeremy and steward. they won the excellence award for the culinary and service side respectively. cool beans.
and our class got the best team for culinary side! haha. althoug we din get the prize for best theme project and best service team, but i guess we were content with our work. we did a great job.
