the recent saturday in church i was enlightened.
pastor asked a simple yet really strong question.
"In the popular children's fairy tale by Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland, Alice was at a fork of a pathway. Alice did not know which fork to choose and the Cat asked her "where do you want to go?" Alice replied that she did not know where to go. the Cat said:"if you do not know where to go, why does the choice of which fork matter?""
indeed it got me asking myself, "do i know where i want to go?"
if i do not know, then why do i even have to plan wat to do?
life has its ironies. even in childish cartoons such as Alice in Wonderland, we find questions that can make us ponder so hard. is life really that simple? are we looking deeper into our lives to understand where we want to go before we choose the left or right of the fork?
i admit that many a time i think i know where i want to go, but in fact i do not know. i do not want to have doubts in my life.
"to believe is to be in 'one mind' to accept a fact or an idea put before you. to disbelieve is to be in 'one mind' to reject and turn away something. to be in doubt is to waver between belief and disbelief and to be in 'two minds', not knowing which to choose."
i do not want to be Alice.
do you?
